In archetypal symbolism, bones represent an indestructible force. The spirit can be wounded, even seriously, but is almost impossible to kill.

In the world between the worlds, an old woman is singing at the bones. As she is singing, the bones are covered with flesh. 

She is the one who sculpts and knots. 

Without her, we lose shape.
